“Come se stessimo attraversando una spiaggia deserta per guardare l’oceano” siamo guidati da una voce ad osservare quanto ci è attorno come un’estensione del proprio sé, dove tutto è uno e quell’uno è tutto, dove il tu di un protagonista si confonde nell’io di chi ascolta e del narratore, “com’era in principio, non c’era divisione né separazione”.
Il testo è una riduzione della traduzione dello scritto dell’artista Agnes Martin The Untroubled mind, del 1972. Quanto dal lungo scritto è salvato dal lavoro di selezione è quanto più è evocativo ed immaginifico; quanto è stato scelto è messo in risalto dal tessuto sonoro minimalista ed immersivo che rifà per via musicale la trama dei dipinti della Martin.
As Agnes Martin has said about her paintings, that they must be looked at as if we were passing through a deserted seashore to look at the ocean, we are lead by a voice to observe what is around us as an extension of our own self, where all is one and that one is all, where the you of a protagonist blends into the I of the listener and the narrator, “as it was in the beginning, there was no division and no separation”.
The text is a reduction of the translation of the artist Agnes Martin’s 1972 book The Untroubled Mind. What is saved from the long text by the process of selection is as evocative and imaginative as possible; what has been chosen is highlighted by the minimalist and immersive sound texture that musically recreates the pattern of Martin’s paintings.
