Helicotrema is an indipendent festival curated by Blauer Hase and Giulia Morucchio
started in 2012 in Venice. In the past six years we hosted an incredible range of different researches and sound works and we are looking forward for the 2018 edition.
We are interested in sound pieces that present a narrative evolution over time such as radio plays, audio documentaries, experimental poetry, field recordings and other timeline-based formats based only on an acoustic component.
This year, a section of Helicotrema will focus on the theme of self-representation, through practices as self-portrayal, journals and other forms of investigation of one’s own identity.
Works that respond to this specific topic will also be appreciated.
The selected pieces will be presented during the seventh edition of the festival in a series of collective listening session that will take place from May to November 2018 in different locations in Italy, such as Ravenna, Naples and Venice.
DEADLINE: April 15th, 2018
